(FI / Helsinki) Mikko H. Haapojan kesällä 2015 äänittämä Luotisuora on 14-minuuttinen äänitaideteos, jossa historiallinen Helsinki pilkahtelee nykypäivän kaupunkielämän lomasta. Luotisuora on ollut osana Helsingin Helsingin kaupunginmuseon pysyvää näyttelyä 2016-2025. Marraskuussa 2016 Luotisuora oli esillä ensi kertaa myös New Yorkissa, 345 Broome Street -galleriassa.
Huhtikuussa 2025 Luotisuorasta luotiin GPS-pohjainen mobiiliääniteosversio, ensimmäisenä Tokion ytimeen, osana Mikko H. Haapojan kuukautta Suomen Instituuttien pARTir-hankkeen kutsutaiteilijana Japanissa. Syyskuussa mobiiliääniteos avautuu originaalireitilleen Helsingin Unioninkadun akselille, Tähtitornin ja Kallion kirkon välille. (EN / Tokyo) In April 2025, the Helsinki-born media artist, music producer and multi-instrumentalist Mikko H. Haapoja created a mobile sound work, a generative binaural version of his soundscape piece Luotisuora - Beeline about summer 2015 in the central Helsinki. The new site specific Beeline can be experienced in the bustle of central Tokyo using a GPS based mobile web app. The original piece is part of the Helsinki City Museum’s permanent exhibition. As a selected artist of Finnish Institutes' pARTir initiative, Haapoja had also the 15th anniversary exhibitions of his The Routes of Helsinki soundscape project in Japan in April 2025.
The mobile sound piece in Tokyo starts from Nihonbashi Pier, ending to the bridge of Otemon gate. One can follow the path of the locative piece also in the opposite direction. In Helsinki the route starts either from Kallio Church (north) or Helsinki Observatory. The pieces can be listened to also by using the remote listening of the SonicMaps player.
